Strategies of Winning American Lottery

Cont. from History on Lotto in America blog

With all the craze about winning the lottery i found this fun guideline on how to win American Lotto

Strategy #1 – Play lotteries with lower jackpots and that have less players.

This increases your chances of winning the jackpot. Usually the higher the jackpot, the less likely it is you will win as you have more competition for the winning number.

Strategy #2 - Never buy a Quick Pick ticket.

Studies in various countries have shown that lottery tickets that you manually pick out yourself have a much greater chance of winning than the ones where you let the computers do the picking for you.

Strategy #3 – Play tickets that award additional money or prizes if a sequence of numbers is played, such as two pairs in a row.

Strategy #4 – If you are playing a lottery which requires that numbers be won in a particular sequence, you should always remember to “box” your selection meaning that the numbers that can win can be picked in any order.

Strategy #5 – Play lotteries that offer bonus wins for an extra number.

Examples of these are Mega Millions and Power Ball in the United States, along with Encore in the Lotto 649 in Canada.

Strategy #6 – Play the most tickets that you can, as this increases the odds that you will be holding a winning ticket.

Strategy #7 – Pool your money for playing the lottery with several other people.

An example would be the “office lottery pool”. This allows you to buy a lot more tickets than you normally would be able to on your own. Studies have shown that there really is power in numbers. The odds favor individuals who have joined a pool as winners rather than those who play solo tickets on their won.

Strategy #8 – Try a wheeling system.

Wheeling is a way for you to get maximum coverage of the numbers you play. Usually you can buy these systems in the form of online or printed charts. Quite simply, wheeling simply helps you span a greater number of numbers each time you play increasing your odds of winning. This maximizes your payoffs when playing the wheeled numbers on multiple tickets.
Wheeling is in essence once way of actually reducing the lottery corporation’s odds against you, as it allows you to play more than the standard set of numbers in one group. There are many different types of charts and wheeling systems available for sale on the Internet including ones developed for six, seven and ten number games.
Here is an example of wheel using 33 tickets that could be used to play a 6 number game.
Pick a group of nine numbers. Your win guarantee is 5 to 6 hits out of nine. This means that if you have 5 numbers out of the pool of 9 numbers at least one ticket will have 5 numbers.
Fill out your play tickets in the sequence shown for all 33 tickets. This will bring you the 33 tickets's Win guarantee of 5/6 in 9.
This means that if you have 5 numbers out of the pool of 9 numbers, at least on ticket will have 5 numbers.

Online you can also buy databases that show examples of winning wheels from previous lotteries.

Strategy #9 – Check sites on the Internet to see which numbers have paid off lately in your local lottery.

Then try to pick numbers that have not paid off lately. The theory is that at least some of them are due to turn up in the next random pick. Keep in mind that these numbers should be mixed with other numbers, as the odds are quite low that all of the winning numbers would not have been in a winning combination for a recent game.

Strategy #10 – If you are not sure which numbers have paid off lately or what are the numbers that are most likely to pay off in a future lottery, there are also many sites on the internet that have done your homework for you, predicting through mathematical odds which numbers are most likely to come up.

To do a search for these numbers, try typing in “hot lottery numbers” and then the state or the lottery name in order to find the latest picks from the statistical experts.

HOPE THESE STRATEGIES WORK FOR YOU!!!

What is Lotto in America, and how did it get here?

A brief History on Lottery, how it began in America and where it came form.  I began this random quest for knowledge because if the huge Mega Millions draw a few weeks back.  In my random thinking i wondered where did this whole thing come from, and why didn't one of my family members invent something like this.
It's in a sense a huge bucket and everyone who throws money in this bucket. Your money is linked to a numeric combination that you select, if it is the correct random set you get all the money in the bucket.  The more people that put money into the bucket, the more money it becomes but the least your odds get to win. But its the randomness of chance that you may be the person that picks the right combination and WINS IT ALL!!! That keeps people playing--So
What is Lottery
A means of raising money by selling numbered tickets and giving prizes to the holders of numbers drawn at random. Legalized gambling.
What is the purpose of LOTTO, how does it benefits the
Government?
It is said the purpose is to legally raise funds for public good..see hyperlink LOTTO.

Puerto Rico in 1934, followed by New Hampshire in 1964; today, lotteries are established in 43 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands; The most recent US lottery to be legalized was in Arkansas; its voters approved a lottery in the 2008 election.
was formed in 1985 in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. In 1988, the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) was formed with IowaKansasMissouriOregonRhode IslandWest Virginia, and the District of Columbia as its charter members; it is best known for Powerball, which was designed to create large jackpots. Another joint lottery, The Big Game (now called Mega Millions), was formed in 1996 by six other lotteries as its charter members.
Instant lottery tickets, also known as scratch cards, were introduced in the 1970s and have become a major source of lottery revenue. Some lotteries have introduced keno and/or video lottery terminals (slot machines in all but name).
Individual lotteries often feature three-digit and four-digit games akin to "numbers games"; a five number game game, and a six number game(the latter two often have a jackpot.) Some lotteries also offer at least one game

Hawaiian Alphabet & Language

In another quest for random knowledge i looked up the history of the language: origin, inventor, and purpose. Yes the language was invented i was also surprised to learn. It is derived from Latin like English by missionaries who visited it in the early 1900's.

The Hawaiian Alphabet is derived from an Austronesian language, a language used throughout the islands of Southeast Asia and the Pacific, with a few members spoken on continental Asia; it is said approximately 386 million people worldwide speak an Austronesian language.

Hawaii as we all know is the only state in U.S. with it's own language; I know your thinking what about "New Mexico," Sorry they speak English.

Interesting Fact::

  1. The Hawaiian alphabet does not have the letter "C" or the letter "Q."
  2. They also use Diphthongs: also known as a gliding vowel, refers to two adjacent vowel sounds occurring within the same syllable. Technically, a diphthong is a vowel with two different targets: That is, the tongue moves during the pronunciation of the vowel.

-In most dialects of English, the word seyehayboylow, and cow contain diphthongs.

Below is an example of the alphabet and it's pronunciation, the video on top of the page is what these letters and Diphthongs  sound like:

New York Wildlife Memo- Random

Animals indigenous to New York State
How's this for a Random topic.  This weeks post actually came about when a friend of mines forwarded me a CNN article on a new species of frog found in the Bronx. I think we all forget sometimes that NY aka "Gotham City" being such a busy place is part of a bigger picture: the state of New York and the United States of America.  So naturally there are animals that are indigenous to this city we have inhabited. And the best part is they don't all reside in a ZOO..some if not most you can typically you can see driving along a park or mountain road; even in your back yard. Below i have listed a few examples that if you haven't seen perhaps now that you know they cohabitant with us- you will keep a look out when strolling around central park in the middle of the night(jogging). Or taking a swim in the beautiful and toxic Hudson River. Perhaps even the next time your hang out in the NYC woods or local Forrest. Smile- take note and enjoy this slice of random information curticy of by invitation only.

See Examples Below:
MooseIn New York, most moose are located in the northeastern part of the state in the Adirondack Mountains and the Taconic Highlands along the Massachusetts and Vermont borders

White-tailed Deer - (Odocoileus virginianus) is New York's most popular game animal and is found throughout the state.

Black BearThe black bear is New York's second largest land mammal.  As recently as the mid-1990s, black bears occupied three relatively distinct ranges: Adirondack, Catskill, and Allegheny.

River Otter- As recent as the early 1990s, the river otter was only found in the eastern half of New York State, while the western regions were devoid of otter except for the occasional individual that happened to be passing through.

Indiana Bat- In New York, approximately 13,000 Indiana bats are known to exist in 8 of the 120 sites searched to date. Surveys conducted since the early 1980s suggest they are doing fine in this state and may in fact be increasing.

RANDOMNESS- Types of Personality Disorders

Today's blog is about Personality Disorders...
Do you have a family member or  friend you might have secretly diagnosed as crazy?  That person could be suffering from a personality disorder. A personality is a vital tool in the communication process.  Having a disorder can negatively affect communication with others professionally or personally.  According to Wikipedia "personality is defined as the particular combination of emotional, attitudinal, and behavioral response patterns of an individual. These psychological patterns begin at development."

Isabel Briggs developed an instrument to measure personality types; the different types are determined by testing. If you've taken anything past general psych you know or have done a Myers Briggs assessment.  The test is comprised of 16 different personality types distinguished in 4 groups called personality types.  The types are indicators of how the respondents react in personal and profession life.

Now as we understand it persons who have personality disorders are defined as individuals who have great difficulty dealing with other people. They tend to be inflexible, rigid, and unable to respond to the changes and demands of life. Although they feel that their behavior patterns are “normal” or “right,” people with personality disorders tend to have a narrow view of the world and find it difficult to participate in social activities. (The Mental Health of America)

There are so many personality disorder types MHA only defines a few.  These few fall into 3 clusters:

§  Cluster A: Odd or eccentric behavior

  • Schizoid Personality Disorder. Introverted, withdrawn, solitary, emotionally cold, and distant. Example: a person suffering from schizoid personality is more of a daydreamer than a practical action taker.

  • Paranoid Personality Disorder.  Untrusting, unforgiving, and prone to angry or aggressive outbursts without justification because they perceive others as unfaithful, disloyal, condescending or deceitful.  Example: jealous, guarded, secretive, and scheming, and may appear to be emotionally “cold” or excessively serious. ROCKWELL 80's: CLASSIC

  • Schizotypal Personality Disorder. A pattern of peculiarities; they have odd or eccentric manners of speaking or dressing. Strange, outlandish or paranoid beliefs and thoughts are common. Have difficulties forming relationships and experience extreme anxiety in social situations. They may react inappropriately or not react at all during a conversation or they may talk to themselves. Example: person display signs of “magical thinking” by saying they can see into the future or read other people’s minds.
§  Cluster B: Dramatic, emotional or erratic behavior

  • Antisocial Personality DisorderBorderline Personality Disorder, and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
§  Cluster C: Anxious fearful behavior

  • Avoidant Personality DisorderDependent Personality Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
I'm sure we all know someone who may fall into one or many of these categories.  Im certain I've even dated a few or perhaps there is one or two that attends the family picnic every year. Hope you enjoy some more random information.
